Science of Reading Instruction

We follow the science of reading — the body of research showing how the brain learns to read and what instruction works best.

For students who haven't responded to typical classroom instruction, this explicit, systematic approach makes the difference.

  • Phonemic awareness and phonics
  • Fluency building with appropriate texts
  • Vocabulary development in context
  • Comprehension strategies that stick

★ Beyond Just "Reading Help"

Generic reading tutoring often means re-reading the same homework passages. That's not what we do.

Our tutors assess exactly where your child's reading breaks down — decoding? fluency? vocabulary? inference? — and target instruction there. We build skills, not just complete assignments.

Using TEFA for Reading Tutoring

Reading Disabilities Qualify for Enhanced Funding

Students with dyslexia, specific learning disabilities in reading, or reading-related IEP goals may qualify for TEFA's $30,000 disability funding tier — enough for intensive, daily reading intervention if needed.

Consistency Is Key

Reading skills build on each other. Sporadic tutoring doesn't work — regular, sustained practice does. TEFA funding makes that consistency possible without financial strain.
